It is normal to have questions or reservations before seeing a chiropractor. Please see below a list of frequently asked questions about chiropractic.

If can't find what you are looking for, please call or email the practice.

We would be happy to answer any questions.

At the most basic level, Chiropractors are healthcare professionals focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustments and/or manipulation of the spine.

Of course, as professionals, Chiropractors are much more.

Chiropractors work with, rather than against, traditional medical interventions.  We look at treatments that will be most effective with the least amount of artificial intervention in the form of surgeries or prescriptions.

Management of this means looking first to the fundamental structure of the body, the skeleton and it’s nervous system, making sure its is aligned and properly functioning.

Chiropractic care focuses on the restoration of spinal alignment and functionality to the body’s nervous system. Chiropractic treatment is referred to as spinal manipulation therapy (SMT) or a chiropractic adjustment.

The Chiropractor will apply controlled force in a very specific way to restore mobility in the joints.  Sometimes a patient will hear a popping noise as the spine is adjusted, but this is no cause for alarm.  Small pockets of air trapped in the joints cause this noise, and it’s a natural reaction to the treatment.

Chiropractors can also work on the muscles using massage therapy and dry needling.

The answer to this question depends on you the patient, and your condition. As your Chiropractor I do everything in my power to correct your condition as fast as possible with as few treatments as necessary, ultimately reducing care to an as-needed follow-up plan to maintain your spinal health.

I will also give advice on how to avoid future problems by evaluating lifestyle activities, ergonomics, and/or diet.
